Eureka Loses C Pérez, Suspended by League Thursday, October 17th, 2024 Jorge Pérez of the Eureka Hornets became belligerent after a third-strike call in the game against Maple yesterday at The Nest. Today, the Hornets catcher addressed his battle with the umps and the ejection that resulted in a 3-game suspension by the league. Pérez said the league report submitted to the league by the umpiring crew did not tell whole story. "They conveniently left out the names they called me." In a statement the league said the suspension was because Pérez returned to the field after the first argument had subsided. Pérez is presently hitting at a .238 pace with 18 home runs and 66 RBIs. He has played in 143 games and scored 71 times. |
