Friday, September 27th, 2024
Watching Ryan Lane getting helped off the field today at Golden Gate Park, fans of the San Francisco Earthquakes feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the starting pitcher will miss 4 months with a torn rotator cuff. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Lane suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Marauders.

In 21 starts this season, Lane has recorded 6 wins and absorbed 3 losses. He has pitched 107 innings, allowed 108 hits, struck out 69 and has a 3.70 ERA.
