21-Game Streak Ends, Sherrill Hitless Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 Jacksonville third baseman Kelsey Sherrill experienced something against the Eureka Hornets he hadn't experienced in his last 21 games: a hitless game. The Hornets pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Jacks to a 5-4 victory at Skellington Stadium. "Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 21-game hitting streak. Now you sportswriters will have to find someone else to bother for stories," Sherrill kiddingly told them after the game. So far in 2024 Sherrill is batting .331 with 10 home runs, 82 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He has 166 hits in 502 at-bats and a .366 OBP. |
