Young Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games
Saturday, September 14th, 2024
Seattle's 27-year-old right fielder Joe Young has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 20 games now. Today Young extended the streak by going 1-for-6 against Patriots pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Young always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Sasquatch 12-5 triumph over Manhattan Beach at Stars & Stripes Stadium he downplayed his part in the victory. Joe Young singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th.
In his season totals, Young has 32 home runs, .326 BA, .374 OBP, 93 RBIs and 88 runs scored. He has played in 126 games.
