Martínez Torches Beavers for 5 Hits Saturday, July 20th, 2024 It was a parade of hits for Juan Martínez of the San Francisco Earthquakes... one right after another... a total of 5 for the day. He ravaged the Portland Beavers for 5 hits in his 6 at-bats and propelled the Earthquakes to a 19-9 victory. "Martínez was really good and we were really bad," groaned the Beavers manager. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Juan Martínez struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Shayne Linnie in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Currently Martínez is batting .356 with 6 home runs, 31 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
