Rivers Sizzles -- Smokes RedWolves for 5 Hits Thursday, July 18th, 2024 No matter what the Waco RedWolves threw at him today, Mal Rivers hit it. He easily handled RedWolves pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Patriots to a 8-7 triumph at Stars & Stripes Stadium. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Waco skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." Mal Rivers doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. To date this season Rivers is hitting .241 with 12 home runs. |
