Beavers Bancroft Smacks 5 Hits Monday, July 15th, 2024 If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Pat Bancroft showed how it's done as he went 5 for 6 against the Jersey Jesters and helped the Portland Beavers beat them 19-2. The manager for the Jesters told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames." If Bancroft keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise. Pat Bancroft flied out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jesús Moreno in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jesús Moreno in the 9th. This season Bancroft has delivered 114 hits in 368 at-bats for a .310 average with 9 home runs. He is getting on base at a .368 clip and his totals also include 35 RBIs and 60 runs scored. This year Bancroft has played in 91 games. |
