5-Hit Blitz by Toyoda Friday, July 5th, 2024 Today the Tornadoes downed the Bombers 15-3 as Akio Toyoda sprayed hits all over Bomber Ballpark in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 6 at-bats. The Kansas City designated hitter said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Akio Toyoda flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ramu Pavi in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Gary Payne in the 9th. A look at his season totals shows Toyoda with 12 home runs, .294 BA, .376 OBP, 36 RBIs and 35 runs scored. |
