South Carolina Bombers, Hops Agree to Trade Monday, July 1st, 2024 You can focus on the negatives after being traded to a new team -- finding a new place to stay, leaving teammates and friends, having to start anew -- but one player hopes to focus on the positives. Those were the comments heard after the South Carolina Bombers came to an agreement to deal 29-year-old 3B Ken Abbott, 26-year-old LHP Chris Hastings and $1,750,000 in cash to the San Diego Hops for 32-year-old minor league LF Justin Davis, 21-year-old minor league LF Zhao-ying Gai, 19-year-old minor league LF Shunso Fukuda and 23-year-old minor league RHP Alonso Esquivel earlier today. The deal is expected to be formally announced later this evening. This year Abbott is batting .277 with 6 home runs and 25 RBIs. In 82 games he has scored 47 times. Davis is hitting .338 for the season with 5 home runs, 32 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 75 hits in 222 at-bats and played in 61 games. |
