Quebec Blanks Jacks, Baltiérrez at His Best Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 Before the game Tony Baltiérrez liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Armada pitcher whitewashed the Jacksonville Jacks 4-0. Baltiérrez said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count." The Quebec starter held Jacksonville scoreless, giving up 5 hits while registering 7 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Jacks manager said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose." Thus far this season, Baltiérrez has tossed 101 innings in 16 starts, fanned 61 batters, walked 36 and put up a 5.26 ERA with 3 wins and 10 losses. |
