Waco's Woodward Suspended for 4 Games
Wednesday, June 19th, 2024
Jim Woodward of the RedWolves has been suspended by the league commissioner's office for 4 games for his animated argument with a home plate umpire in yesterday's contest with the New York Mafia at The Ballpark at Potomac Yard . In the heated confrontation the Waco second baseman pointed to where the ball was and repeatedly pointed his finger in the ump's face and apparently made some contact. That's when he got ejected.
Reached for comment on the suspension, Woodward said, "I guess I'll have to learn how to not talk with my hands. They are a dangerous weapon according to the umpires."
Woodward is hitting at a .252 mark this season. His stats show 8 home runs, 40 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has played 70 games for the RedWolves.
