Hit Parade: Pittman Pops 5 Hits Monday, June 10th, 2024 After the So Cal 12-6 victory over Jersey and his 5-hit day left fielder Jon Pittman told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 20-year-old player gained that distinction today at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Jersey Jesters. The skipper of the Republic spoke glowingly of Pittman, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jon did that to perfection today." Jon Pittman singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Pittman is hitting .330 in 2024 with 24 RBIs and 2 home runs. |
