Bowman Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Friday, May 24th, 2024 And the hits just keep on coming -- especially off the red-hot bat of George Bowman. The Tornadoes first baseman got 2 hits in 4 at-bats in today's 8-2 triumph over the Georgia Grays at Debris Field. Bowman has now hit safely in his last 20 games. Asked by the press, how it feels to go through something like this, he replied, "the longer it goes on, the more the pressure intensifies. The press coverage can get relentless at times. I wish I could just go out and play the game without all this distraction, but I know that's not going to happen. I know I will just have to grin and bear it." George Bowman flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Sam Hatt in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and singled in the 7th. So far this season Bowman is hitting .378 with 3 home runs. |
