Marauders Chill Ríos's Hot Streak
Wednesday, May 15th, 2024
Georgia second baseman Pablo Ríos came into today's game against the Maple Marauders on a hot streak. When it was over, the Marauders did their job very well. They beat the Georgia Grays 7-2 and cooled him off at the same time. Maple stopped Ríos without a hit and his 24-game hitting streak came to an end.

The 28-year-old Ríos only had a few words to say after the game, "I had a chance to do it and I came up short."

His manager commented, "What Pablo did was exciting and quite an achievement. It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 24 games in a row. I'm really proud of him. And I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

So far this season Ríos is batting .343 with 7 home runs.
