Big Day for Alvarado: Swats 5 Hits Friday, May 10th, 2024 It was a parade of hits for Valentín Alvarado of the Portland Beavers, one right after another. He ravaged the Jersey Jesters for 5 hits in his 5 at-bats. But the Jesters rose to the occasion and rained on his parade with a 9-6 win. "Alvarado was really good ... we were just a little better," said the Jesters manager in the postgame interview. "It's all right with me if he gets 5 hits every game against us, if we win." Valentín Alvarado hit a solo-shot off Sixto Ríos in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Alvarado's current batting average stands at .338 and he has chalked up 14 home runs and 40 RBIs. |
