Bowman Torches Bombers for 5 Hits Saturday, April 20th, 2024 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but George Bowman got one today. He scattered hits all over Debris Field to pace Kansas City to a 15-4 victory over South Carolina. The South Carolina skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Bowman hit several that he is not supposed to hit." George Bowman singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 8th. So far this year Bowman is batting .342 with no home runs. |
