Harris, Payne Swap Clubs Monday, November 20th, 2023 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that South Carolina and Dallas have made a swap with 28-year-old RHP Tim Harris, 28-year-old 2B Jorge Rosas, 20-year-old minor league RHP Trey Burrell and 32-year-old minor league RHP Aaron Harris being shipped to the Texans and in return the Bombers would get 38-year-old RHP Gary Payne, 20-year-old minor league RHP Shinzo Sasaki and $3,000,000 in cash. The Dallas general manager said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the South Carolina organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. In his career Harris has notched 31 wins and 44 losses and compiled a 6.25 ERA. In Payne's career he has 360 saves with a 65-67 record and a 2.77 ERA. |
