Hornets Sweep So Cal Tuesday, October 24th, 2023 The Hornets rolled over So Cal 4-3 at The Nest to easily win the 2023 ABL World Series crown. Eureka won in a walk and swept the series from the Republic 4-0. It was their 2nd championship title. The winning manager praised his own club as well as the opposition, "It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them. The Republic are a fine team, but we always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the ABL World Series." The Hornets took first place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division and rounded out the year with a 100-62 record. |
