Kim Jr. Bangs 3 HR Against Duke City Saturday, September 30th, 2023 Jong-min Kim Jr., third baseman for the So Cal Republic, had a whale of a game, rocketing three balls out of House of the Republic against the Duke City Danger today in their 6-5 victory. After the game he said, "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them. The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves... all three were mistakes." For the game Kim Jr. was 4-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Kim Jr. added, "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives. Today I found the home run stroke." Jong-min Kim Jr. hit a two-run home run off Hayden Capel in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Hayden Capel in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Ánibal Machado in the 9th. In 160 games this season Kim Jr. is batting .304 with 197 hits and 52 home runs. He has scored 129 runs and driven in 138. |
