Winters Claims Hit Record Sunday, September 24th, 2023 Matt Winters is celebrating tonight. The Kansas City star stroked another base hit to break a tie with Alvin Baldwin and claim the top spot on the single-season hits leaderboard. It was hit number 253 for Winters. "I don't go out to set records," said Winters. "I just try to play hard and let the chips fall where they may." Matt Winters hit an RBI double in the 1st and singled in the 3rd. For the season Winters has produced 253 hits in 623 at-bats for a .406 average with 12 home runs and gotten on base at a .475 clip. |
