English Finishes Off Bandits 2-1 for 400th Save
Saturday, September 16th, 2023
When Jack English got to the ballpark today, he just knew it was going to be a special day. The 35-year-old reliever was sitting just one save short of 400 for his career and anxious to reach that much-coveted milestone. "I just had a feeling that today was the day," English told reporters after the game, a 2-1 So Cal Republic win over the Montreal Bandits. "I was a bit nervous before the game, but there wasn't much time for nerves once I started to warm up." The newest member of the 400 club pitched 1 innings, allowed no runs and no hits in his milestone effort.
Lifetime English has been credited with 400 saves, while compiling a 47-58 won-lost mark.
