Murillo Hitless, Streak Ends at 20 Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023 The Jersey Jesters won the game 7-5 over the Montreal Bandits. At the same time the Bandits mound corps did what no other team could do. They stopped the 20-game hitting streak of Jesters right fielder Fernando Murillo. But that was still not enough to win the game. "Our pitchers might have focused a bit too much on stopping Murillo," the Montreal manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Jesters have other hitters, and they did their job today." In 108 games this year Murillo has posted a .362 average and put up these numbers: 25 home runs, 80 RBIs and 82 runs scored. |
