5-Hit Barrage by McCarthy Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 Todd McCarthy put on a hitting clinic today as the Tornadoes dumped the Danger 42-5 at Debris Field. The Kansas City right fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Duke City pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch." Todd McCarthy flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Tony Green in the 7th, singled in the 8th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. McCarthy has collected 157 hits for the Tornadoes this year, 32 of them home runs. He has also netted 106 RBIs and scored 95 runs while batting .313. |
