Setback For Hornets and Seiichi Iwamoto Saturday, July 29th, 2023 All is not well with Seiichi Iwamoto in his recovery from an elbow sprain. The 23-year-old Hornets center fielder has already reached some significant steps in his rehabilitation, but his manager said that the team will continue to be cautious with Iwamoto and take his progression one day at a time, especially after the setback yesterday. "Yesterday he was feeling pretty good but he didn't do a lot on the field," he said. "Today he was supposed to be on the field doing light stuff and then gradually start working right back up. I think he overdid it." A postworkout examination revealed that Iwamoto had reinjured himself and would now miss at least 2 weeks because of it. Iwamoto currently has a .357 batting average with 121 hits, 4 homers, 36 RBIs, 68 runs scored and a .427 OBP. |
