Brown Belts 5 Hits Saturday, July 15th, 2023 Today the Grays downed the Toreros 11-10, but Rod Brown did his best to avoid that outcome as he lashed hits all over Field de Los Layendas in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," the Cabo San Lucas third baseman said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter." Asked if he had a hitting philosophy, Brown said, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of good pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Rod Brown singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off J.R. Murphy in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 9th and singled in the 11th. This year Brown has hit 9 home runs and posted a .294 batting average. |
