Big Day with Bat: Whitney 5-6 Thursday, May 18th, 2023 It was a good day for the Black Knights at Blue Ivy Stadium as they clipped the Minnesota Berserkers 23-5. It was tremendous day for Leslie Whitney, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 6 barrage. The Brooklyn center fielder told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well." Leslie Whitney singled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. Posting a .354 batting average to date, Whitney has no home runs and 27 RBIs. |
