So Cal Republic, Mafia Agree to Trade Monday, June 27th, 2022 It won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the So Cal Republic and New York Mafia finalized a trade today. So Cal will send 31-year-old catcher Edgardo Gonzáles, 26-year-old minor league starting pitcher Kuniyoshi Hasegawa, 39-year-old minor league reliever Darryl Bradshaw and 21-year-old minor league starting pitcher Pedro Pérez to the Mafia, while the Republic will receive 23-year-old catcher Lúcio Nájera. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," said the Republic general manager). The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players to join their new ball clubs by the end of the day. So far this year Gonzáles is batting .291 with 12 home runs.
