Great Day for Au -- 5 Hits Monday, June 20th, 2022 Who needs batting practice? Li-chi Au of Montreal apparently doesn't as he battered New York with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 11-10 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?" Li-chi Au hit a two-run home run off Oda Kudo in the 2nd, hit a three-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This season Au has hit at a .321 clip with 50 RBIs, 10 home runs and 42 runs scored. |
