Toreros Chill Esquivel's Hot Streak Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 The Cabo San Lucas Toreros got more than a 2-1 victory over San Francisco today at Golden Gate Park. They put an end to Sergio Esquivel's 20-game hitting spree by holding him without a hit in 3 at-bats. But it was no big deal to the Earthquakes center fielder. Esquivel seemed to feel more for his team than himself. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit. I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." During the current season Esquivel is batting at a .351 clip with 10 home runs and 28 RBIs. He has played in 40 games and scored 34 times. |
