Winters Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Sunday, April 24th, 2022 It was a big day with the bat for Matt Winters of the Kansas City Tornadoes at Legends Park as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Maple 7-4. After the game he said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today. 5 hits in 5 tries. But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story." At the end of the game Winters had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Tornadoes had won. Matt Winters singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th. Hitting .443 to date, Winters has 2 home runs and 15 RBIs. He has played in 19 games. |
