Thompson Shows Off, Hits for Cycle Saturday, April 16th, 2022 It was a special day for Pat Thompson at The Nest. Not only did Beavers beat the Eureka Hornets 11-5, but the Portland second baseman hit for the cycle, too. The 27-year-old Thompson racked up 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name mentioned in the record book. For the game he was 4-6 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. In the words of the Eureka manager, "He hit everything we threw. There was just no getting him out today." Speaking to the press after the game, Thompson said, "First pitch fastballs, that's what I was looking for today... I got some good looks." Pat Thompson doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Luis Vega in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and tripled in the 9th. Thompson is hitting .364 this year with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 16 hits in 44 at-bats, 4 walks and a .417 on-base percentage. Thompson has played in 10 games. |
