New York Halts Shields's Hitting Steak Wednesday, April 6th, 2022 The Montreal Bandits defeated the New York Mafia 11-6 today at Labatt Bleue Park, but Tim Shields's 24-game hitting string was snapped and went to the wayside. Shields went hitless in 1 at-bat. "I enjoyed the streak," the catcher said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the 'W' today. That's all that really counts." |
