Carder Suffers Career-Ending Injury
Thursday, September 16th, 2021
The expression on his face said it all when third baseman John Carder was injured colliding with a player at a base today in a game at House of the Republic against Manhatten Beach. You could tell that this was no minor injury. Carder was examined quickly by the team doctor and immediately rushed to the local hospital. After several tests, the diagnosis was a torn labrum, and in this case, it means his career is over. The So Cal Republic issued the following statement: "It is with great sadness that we see John ending his career due to injury. He was a great competitor and teammate and will be missed by the Republic organization." Carder is 28 years old.

This season Carder is swinging the bat at a .335 pace. He has hit 12 home runs and scored 79 times, while driving in 71. His on-base percentage is .371 and he has played in 123 games.
