Hits Blitz for Grays Espinosa Monday, September 6th, 2021 Georgia's José Espinosa hit for the cycle today, but his club still went home with their heads hung low. The Grays were upended by the Portland Beavers 14-10. "It was a good game for me," Espinosa said. "I wish it could have been a good game for all of us." The Grays third baseman sparked the offense with a truly special performance, hitting a single, double, triple and home run to add his name to the record books. Still, it wasn't enough to stop Portland. Espinosa went 4-for-5 for the game with 2 runs scored and 5 RBI. José Espinosa hit a solo-shot off Elvis Sharp in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. This year Espinosa has collected a .269 batting average to date with 133 hits in 495 at-bats, 90 RBIs, 26 home runs and scored 69 times. He has played in 136 games. |
