The Patriots manager told BNN, "Not to belittle his streak, but at the end of the day, the important thing is winning the game, not stopping a hitting streak." Well, the Patriots didn't stop Octávio García today, but they won the game 13-6 over the Mafia. The New York first baseman was 1-for-4 in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 25 games. Octávio García struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in a run in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. This year García has collected a .326 batting average to date with 131 hits in 402 at-bats, 73 RBIs, 23 home runs and scored 77 times. He has played in 95 games. |
