Hits Galore: Reader Drills 5 Hits Friday, July 9th, 2021 It was a sensational day at the plate for Kyle Reader as he led the charge to a 15-6 win over the Republic. The San Diego left fielder was pure misery for the So Cal pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Republic told BNN reporters after the game, "Reader put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Kyle Reader doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Billy Turner in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. For the year Reader is batting .412 with 114 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 55 times and driven in 32. |
