Au Torches Hops for 5 Hits Friday, May 28th, 2021 Who needs batting practice? Li-chi Au of Montreal apparently doesn't as he peppered San Diego with a 5-hit outburst in today's game. He got the hits, but lost the game. The Hops pulled out a 10-8 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. This was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?" One of his teammates hollered out, "No, only if your team wins the game!" Li-chi Au doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. During the current season Au is batting at a .330 clip with 4 home runs and 26 RBIs. He has played in 48 games and scored 34 times. |
