Taniguchi 5-5 for Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Sunday, May 28th, 2023 Today the Fighters downed the Tigers 12-8 as Tokuhei Taniguchi sprayed hits all over Ballpark of Hakui College in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham first baseman said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Tokuhei Taniguchi singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Tadasuke Saito in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Michihiro Ikeda in the 8th. This season in 56 games Taniguchi is batting .305 with 15 home runs, 42 RBIs and has scored 43 times. |
