Great Day for Umaba -- 5 Hits Sunday, May 7th, 2023 Swallows shortstop Motoki Umaba went ballistic today with the bat. He smoked the Giants for 5 hits and sparked Tokyo Yakult to a 5-2 win over Yomiuri at Ballpark of Yamagata College. Motoki Umaba doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Koichi Yamasaki in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year Umaba has collected a .292 batting average to date with 42 hits in 144 at-bats, 20 RBIs, 6 home runs and scored 24 times. He has played in 37 games. |
