Fukuda Voted Best PL Pitcher in June
Friday, July 1st, 2022
Hiro Fukuda doesn't think about his career all that much. He doesn't fixate on yesterday and he doesn't worry about next season -- he has learned to worry only about today. That attitude, coupled with no saves in 7 relief appearances netted the 18-year-old reliever June's Pacific League Pitcher of the Month trophy earlier today.
The Chiba Lotte reliever pitched 12 innings, struck out 15 and walked 7 on the way to a 4-0 mark and a 5.25 ERA.
For the year Fukuda has collected no saves in 7 relief appearances. He has also notched 15 strikeouts and 7 walks in 12 innings while registering a 5.25 ERA and a 4-0 won-lost record.
