One season yields to another...and it is a time when a young man's fancy turns to baseball. The Boys of the Diamond will soon be here in all their radiant glory to put some sparkle, purpose, and meaning back into the lives of baseball fans everywhere. There will be many of those seemingly meaningless exhibition games, but they do have an important purpose -- to prepare teams for the coming regular season. The 2023 NIPPON BASEBALL LEAGUE schedule has been announced, and the preseason starts today.

No Recovery For Tigers Hao, Setback Forces Him Out

The Hanshin newspaper reported today that Tigers reliever Xiao-wei Hao has decided to retire from baseball due to a serious setback while recovering from a torn back muscle. "I'm disappointed," Hao told BNN. "My worst fear is a reality and I won't be coming back to the game."
