Slate Cracks 5 Hits Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Quinton Slate of the Niagara Stars. He tore up the Montreal Royales to the tune of 5 hits in 7 at-bats in the Niagara 18-10 win today at Eliminators Ballpark. "Slate was a tough out today," the Montreal manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Quinton Slate flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit a two-run single in the 9th and hit a two-run double in the 10th. So far this season Slate has hit .328 with 7 home runs, 37 RBIs and and scored 45 times. |
