Wise Raps 3 HR Against Royales Thursday, May 6th, 2021 Josh Wise of Victoria slugged three home runs against the Montreal at Eliminators Ballpark. Nevertheless, he couldn't win the game all by himself. The Royales spoiled his record-setting day by defeating the Capitals 12-11. His manager said afterward, "The loss puts a damper on his outstanding game, but Josh still will get his name in the league record book. That is some consolation. But knowing him, he would have preferred a win." Commenting on his explosive day, the Victoria first baseman said, "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone. The last one I got lucky. It seemed like the wind helped it a little. Old Mother Nature helped me get into the record books. I wish she had helped us win the game, too." For the game Wise was 3 for 5 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Josh Wise struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off William Clark in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Joe Bowen in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Kiyomitsu Shini in the 9th. Wise's current batting average stands at .259 and he has chalked up 10 home runs and 32 RBIs. |
