"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Cabrera. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Yellow Jackets star told reporters. Cabrera excelled with an impressive 8-1 record in 11 starts. In 68 innings he yielded 46 hits and 13 walks, while striking out 84 and compiling a fine 1.72 ERA.Paul Johnston of the Florida Gators finished second in voting, while Philip Smith of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets finished third. |
