It's Official -- Arkansas Fires Burkett as Manager Monday, March 21st, 2022 Today the Razorbacks made an announcement: The era of Jody Burkett is over in Arkansas. After a disappointing season, the club officials sat down with Burkett to discuss their decision to make a change. "It wasn't a surprise to me." Burkett said speaking with reporters. "As a team we did not perform up to people's expectations, nor to my expectations. When that happens, someone has to take the blame. This year, that person was me." In an official statement, the Razorbacks expressed gratitude for Burkett's efforts, but confirmed the need to look for a different voice in the clubhouse. "We thank Jody for providing class, professionalism, experience and leadership during his tenure with the club, but believe we need to make this important change to our team's management." |
