Shepard Gets 5 Hits Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 At Forney College Grounds Gary Shepard was the King of Swing today in the 4-3 win over the Crimson Tide. The Iowa State center fielder stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the Alabama and delivered 5 hits. It was a sensational game for him. He told the press, "Unbelievable feeling. It felt good. 5 for 5! It does wonders for your batting average, too." Gary Shepard singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Dave Gaudet in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This year Shepard is hitting .368, produced 6 RBIs and 1 home runs, scored 9 times and gotten on base at a .457 rate. |
