AHL Names Hoshino Cy Young Award Winner Monday, October 30th, 2023 The Westside clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Takayuki Hoshino will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 2023 August Herrman League Cy Young Award. Hoshino made 35 starts this year, winning 15 and losing 9. He threw 206.2 innings, fanned 259, allowed 152 hits and 90 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .199 average as he logged an impressive 3.05 ERA. Michael Walsh of the Albuquerque Human Beings finished second in voting, while Charles Wilson of the Houston Sting finished third. |
