Warriors Chikafuji Smacks 5 Hits Friday, June 2nd, 2023 Masahiro Chikafuji told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Chikafuji of the Winfield Warriors did against the Austin Hipsters. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Hipsters, who suffered a 17-0 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Masahiro Chikafuji singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. In 22 games this season Chikafuji is batting .325 with 25 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 7 runs and driven in 15. |
