Gnats Espinoza Named BOL's #1 Player Monday, May 29th, 2023 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Buck O'Neil League, but last week Fernando Espinoza of the Nichols Gnats reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Espinoza rocked opposing pitching for a .429 average (12-28), 2 home runs and 7 RBIs to come away with the award. This year Espinoza has collected a .258 batting average to date with 46 hits in 178 at-bats, 22 RBIs, 2 home runs and scored 23 times. He has played in 50 games. |
