League Suspends Sting Manjrekar 2 Games Wednesday, September 21st, 2022 The league office has taken action against Houston second baseman Badarisaila Manjrekar for inappropriate action and aggressive conduct in the Sting game against the Sanford Stingrays. He has been issued a 2-game suspension. Manjrekar was ejected from the game yesterday after arguing a called third strike. He first argued with the plate umpire. Then Manjrekar moved up the first-base line, waving his fists at the umpire as the dispute continued. As he left the field, he also argued with the crew chief, who was umpiring at third base. His manager finally convinced him to leave the field as the umpires were threatening to forfeit the game. Manjrekar is swinging at a .218 pace on the year with 3 home runs, 25 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has played in 59 games. |
